Landis Valley Museum is Lancaster County’s version of Williamsburg. They specifically concentrate on Pennsylvania German agricultural history between 1750 and 1940. The museum has just celebrated 100 years as an organization and have grown quite a bit since the Landis brothers started the collection of 75,000 historical artifacts…..everything from farming implements to buildings. This is a living farm as well with heirloom plantings and heritage breeds of animals. What started small is now part of the Pennsylvania Historical and Museum Commission. They hold several major events each year. We love the Herb Fair and the Annual Holiday Bonfire at Christmastime. Here you can take classes in tatting, basket weaving and false grain painting. They welcomes visitors every day but Mondays and Tuesdays. The grounds are beautiful and the costumed staff are knowledgeable and friendly.
