About Antiques Capital of the USA

About 11 minutes from the Inn

“The Strip” – seven miles along Route 272 in Adamstown is known as the Antiques Capital of the USA. You can find anything here – if you look hard enough. We’ve had guests from Kansas find industrial eye wash cups, loads of folks find furniture and stained glass, and lots of happy guests finding that elusive find for their collection of …..whatever!  Most shops are open daily, saving for a Tuesday or Wednesday. Folks often complain that some smaller items are in glass showcases, but that is only to ensure that they remain on display (rather than walking out the door) and we’ve found that staff is more than happy to unlock any showcase. Sundays are the big day – as Renningers is only open on a Sunday. Antique Extravaganzas bring in hundreds of more dealers, and shops are open longer and often have specials. These weekends happen the last full weekend in April, June and September. It is the number one place to go in Lancaster County to antique. Our inn is filled with lots of treasures from the Antiques Capital of the USA! If you enjoy the thrill of the hunt, the strip is not to be missed.
